星空体育app下载 staff聽remain聽almost entirely remote聽but continue聽to聽successfully聽fulfill our mission.聽Like聽some of聽you, many聽of our staff聽are burdened with the聽juggle of聽school-aged聽children and the beginning of the school year.聽聽We are聽allowing flexibility to staff on how and when they work聽to account for these burdens and others.聽聽In some ways, we are more productive than ever.聽聽I hope you see this in the timeliness of application and renewal processing聽and聽in the speed with which we answer the phone and email.聽

Commission Meeting Overview聽聽

This month聽we held our second virtual Commission meeting.聽聽The聽Commission reviewed聽and approved聽for a public comment period聽a new round of proposed聽promulgated form聽changes as聽recommended聽by the Broker-Lawyer Committee.聽You will remember聽that the Commission approved for a public comment period form changes in May. 聽Based on the comments that many of you submitted,聽the Broker-Lawyer Committee聽recommended changes that the Commission considered at聽last聽week鈥檚 meeting. 聽You will have another opportunity to submit comments on these changes before the Commission considers聽adopting them聽in November.聽I encourage you to review the changes鈥攖hey include changes to how an option fee is paid, how leases are handled, and聽a change to language on the Broker Information page regarding commission payments.聽

Now it is your turn to provide the Commission with feedback on proposed rules coming from this meeting. I encourage all of you to 聽to be notified when the comment period is opened and how to provide feedback to the agency.聽聽

Additionally, after an extensive discussion聽over more than a year, the Commission聽adopted changes to education rules that affect聽pre-licensing education for聽inspectors.聽These rules were聽sent to聽the聽Governor's Office of Regulatory Compliance聽for review聽to examine whether the rules are聽overreaching or limiting to the competitive market place.聽The聽Division聽determined that the rules are聽consistent with state policy and聽authorized final adoption by the Commission.聽聽聽

License Extensions Expiring聽

License holders were deemed 鈥渆ssential鈥� under the previous stay at home orders聽and are聽continuing to work in these unique conditions.聽聽I know many are working with great intensity given the聽current market.聽聽星空体育app下载聽extended application deadlines and renewals starting in March,聽however,聽those extensions ended聽on聽July聽31.聽The聽licensing and customer relations teams have been hard at work to聽address the processing and the questions associated with the 5 months of applications and renewals that聽flooded in.聽

You may wonder why we discontinued extensions even though the pandemic continues.聽 From where I sit, it is聽necessary聽to聽provide extensions聽for聽providers聽and license holders聽as we determined how to navigate in this pandemic environment.聽聽All license holders, however,聽were聽considered essential, and have the opportunity to continue working.聽聽As聽such,聽it聽was necessary to ensure license holders聽fulfill the requirements for renewal, including聽staying聽up to date on continuing education,聽as a mechanism to protect consumers.聽聽聽

In closing, I聽have found this unique season to provide me with an unexpected gift.聽 While my plan was to travel much of the spring to hear from license holders聽and to simultaneously spend time with staff, I have had the privilege of focusing internally.聽 I have learned quickly about some of the interworking of the agency.聽 However,聽I am itching to get out and be face to face with license holders.聽聽While we have had some virtual opportunities, I know it is not the same.聽聽It will be a great privilege and delight to聽meet people in person.聽Until then, we will do what we can聽and I encourage聽you聽to reach out to me for assistance.聽聽
